The Jos Buttler-led England side has just defeated Pakistan in the T20 World Cup Final and became the first team ever to hold the ODI and T20 World Cup title at the same time. This series is the continuation of the England tour of Australia which comprised 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs. With the T20 series already completed before the commencement of the T20 World Cup, the ODIs will be played now. The first ODI will be played in Adelaide on Thursday while the 2nd will be played in Sydney on Saturday. The World Cup winners will then be returning to the MCG along with the Australian side for the 3rd and last ODI which will be played on Nov 22.
The Buttler-led English side has won the T20 series 2-0 against an Aaron Finch-led Australian side last month and the Englishmen would now be looking to continue their good run down under. Australia this time would be led by Pat Cummins who has been appointed as the new Australian captain in the 50-over format, replacing Aaron Finch. Cummins would be eying for a victorious start to his One-day captaincy career.
