On Sunday, in the 17th match of the ongoing BBL season, Afghan player Rashid Khan has given a special treat to the spectators by scoring extra-ordinary innings of 40 runs. It was a sensational knock by Afghan cricketer Rashid against Sydney Thunder.

21-year-old Afghan cricketer has scored 40 runs in just 18 balls whose primary job in the team is with the ball and not with the bat. But the player has conveyed several times that he enjoys batting more than bowling. This time Rashid Khan has truly proved his worth that he is as good with the bat as good with the ball. 

In the 19th over of the second innings, Adelaide Strikers needed to score another 31 runs with 3 wickets. It was looking to be a difficult task before Rashid Khan alive the drama by hitting 4, 6, 4 and reduce the deficit to 14 before the last over. However, despite having such a good knock from Rashid Khan Adelaide Strikers lost the match by 3 runs.

Earlier in the match, after winning the toss Sydney Thunder chose to bat first at Adelaide Oval in Adelaide. Meanwhile, batting first, they have scored 168-5 at the end of the 20th over. From Sydney Thunders skipper Callum Ferguson scored 73 off 46 balls and set a target of 169 runs.

In the reply, Adelaide Strikers could manage to score only 165 at the end of the 20th over. And hence Sydney Thunders won the match by just 3 runs margin. From Adelaide Strikers Jake Weatherald was the top scorer who scored 52 off 37 balls. And in the last, there was a magnificent knock from Rashid Khan, however, gone in vain. 

Sydney Thunders skipper Callum Ferguson awarded with ‘Player of the Match’ for his beautiful knock of 73 off just 46 balls.
