BBL 2020-21: The match between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars witness a hilarious incident

Cricket matches around the world have become more interesting after the fans have been allowed in the stadiums. The sporting activities across the world were interrupted because of the outbreak of COVID-19 and even after cricket resumed, fans weren’t granted permission to enter the stadiums. However, things have got better now and fans are back cheering for their favourite team. In the 23rd game of BBL 2020-21, fans witnessed a pretty comical incident which made everyone laugh out loud.

The fans in the stadium play an important role in uplifting the mood of the players. The cheering and the encouragement by the audience boost the morale of a team and the fans sometimes lighten the tension with their antics. The match between Hobart Hurricanes and Melbourne Stars witnessed one such incident which made everyone smile.

BBL 2020-21 witnessed a funny incident

There was laughter all around after a spectator refused to give the ball back as it went into his cup of beer. The fan even drank from the cup with the ball inside it. All the players and the commentators broke into laughter after seeing what transpired. The incident took place in the 16th over of the first inning when Malan hit the fourth delivery of Lance Morris’s over for a six.

One of the fans in the crowd tried to catch the ball but he dropped it causing the ball to go into the cup of the man sitting beside him. He teased the fielder by not giving the ball back initially, but later returned it. The umpires had already made their minds to replace the ball by then. Owing to Dawid Malan’s fantastic inning, the Hurricanes scored 164 in their 20 overs.

Melbourne Stars fell short of 21 runs and ended up losing the 23rd match of BBL 2020-21. The Hobart Hurricanes are at the third position on the points table with 18 points while the Melbourne Stars are at the fifth position with 11 points to their name.
