The 11th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) has just kicked off with three matches done and dusted. The tournament is still in its initial days but we probably have seen ‘Catch of the Summer.’

In what was a thrilling contest between Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers, the 19-year-old Jake Fraser-McGurk gave the viewers a catch to remember for the ages. Showcasing his acrobatics and high-flying ability, Jake plucked a stunning catch.

In the 7th over of Adelaide Strikers’ innings, Weatherald played a slog sweep on a delivery bowled by Zahir Khan. As the ball hit the bat, it produced a cracking sound and the first impressions seemed like it would travel for a six. However, Melbourne Renegades’ Fraser-McGurk had other plans in mind. The youngster timed his jump to perfection, made sure he was in the right position and then grabbed a one-handed stunner.

Jake Fraser McGurk’s expressions and celebration showed it all. He ran towards his teammates with a spiderman-like hand gesture. Courtesy of his superhuman effort, the Renegades gained a win over Strikers with the barest of margins and added three points to their tally.

The encounter between the two sides was a nervy one and went down to the wire. Opting to bat first, Melbourne Renegades put up a total of 153 runs on the board with Mackenzie Harvey scoring 56 off 46 deliveries. Veteran Peter Siddle was the star with the ball as he picked up three crucial scalps in the first innings.
