BBL 2022-23: Chris Lynn debuts for Adelaide Strikers with an unusual entrance

Chris Lynn makes his mark for Adelaide Strikers, his second BBL team after Brisbane Heat.

Chris Lynn, the all-time leading run-scorer in the Big Bash League, has joined Adelaide Strikers ahead of the BBL 2022-23.

Lynn made his debut for Adelaide Strikers in the game against Sydney Sixers and came in to bat with an amazing entrance.

Chris Lynn’s bizarre entrance stuns BBL fans

Australia’s aggressive batter Chris Lynn, who previously represented Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League, joined Adelaide Strikers ahead of the BBL 2022-23 edition. Chris Lynn signed landmark deal with Cricket Australia to play for Adelaide Strikers for 11 games in Big Bash before heading to play in the International League T20 (ILT20) in the UAE.

Lynn was not offered a new contract by his former franchise Brisbane Heat after which the aggressive batter agreed to sign a deal with the Adelaide Strikers. However, just like his batting, his debut was also made special by the kind of entrance he made into the Adelaide Oval.

Lynn was welcomed to the crease with a trumpet playing from the roof of the Adelaide Oval. Former Australian wicketkeeper and Fox Cricket’s commentator Adam Gilchrist was stunned by the trumpeter. “What an entrance,” Gilchrist said as he looked completely shocked with the unusual entrance.

The hard-hitting batter is the all-time leading run-scorer in the Big Bash as he has scored 3,005 runs at a strike rate of 148.83. Chris Lynn looked pretty confident ahead of his debut against the Sydney Sixers as he said, “I’ll be doing my best; I’ll be coming down to Adelaide fit and strong and ready to score a heap of runs and even more importantly, put on a show for the fans, who are the backbone of the Adelaide Strikers”

Chris Lynn came in to bat at number three after the opening batsmen Jake Weatherald scooped a Steve O’Keefe delivery to point, departing for only one run off three balls. Lynn didn’t disappoint his new franchise as he played a crucial knock of 41 runs and gave the much needed support to Matthew Short who looked in sublime touch right from the word go and ended up scoring 84 runs off just 53 deliveries.
