Amidst a lot of criticism and backlash, the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League was suspended indefinitely and it came as a jolt for the cricket fans who were enjoying the full-on entertainment every evening. The decision was taken after a bunch of players and support staff were found COVID positive. However, there is some good news for the fans now as BCCI confirms IPL 2021 resumption. The BCCI is all set to resume the tournament and the planning for the same has already been done.
Team India is currently preparing for the first ever ICC Test Championship final which they will play against New Zealand, starting on June 18 in Hampshire Bowl, Southampton. The Test Championship final will be followed by a 5-match Test series against England. The series will be commencing from 04th August and will go on for over a month. The England tour will be ending on September 15 which creates a month-long window for the BCCI to complete the rest of the IPL matches.
BCCI confirms IPL 2021 resumption
The BCCI have requested the England Cricket Board to shorten the 9-day gap between the 2nd and 3rd match, which will make it easier for the board to go ahead with the resumption of the Indian Premier League on foreign soil. Just like the 2020 edition, the board is planning to organize the remainder of the league in UAE. There is a hope though, even if ECB doesn’t concede to BCCI’s request. BCCI will still have the window from September 15-October 15 to resume the league.
This will be a perfect setup for the warm-up to the T20I World Cup as BCCI confirms IPL 2021 resumption. The T20I World Cup is going to be hosted by India in the month of October 2021.

Earlier, there were speculations that the remainder of the IPL may be organized in UK, but all those speculations have been put to rest by the BCCI. Also, BCCI and UAE already hosted the tournament with flying colours the previous year, so there will not be so much of hassle for the board to tackle.
