Almost 2 months of unlimited action and sensational cricket is coming to an end with the Big Bash League final on 06th Feb. The tournament started on 10th Dec and is now at the knockout stage where the top teams are battling for a spot in the final. The Eliminator took place on 29th Jan between Brisbane Heat and Adelaide Strikers. The highlight of the match was the one-handed catch by Ben Laughlin.

Adelaide Strikers opted to bat first after winning the toss but they were unable to put up a big score. The Strikers kept losing wickets at regular intervals with the spin duo of Labuschagne and Swepson denting the batting line-up massively. The duo accounted for five wickets combined and that made inroads for the Brisbane Heat to register a win.

Ben Laughlin pulls off a beautiful catch

The highlight of the match, however, was the one-handed catch by Ben Laughlin who surprised everyone with a catch as unbelievable as that. In the 18th over of the Strikers’ inning Labuschagne bowled a full toss delivery to Neser who was facing his first delivery. The batsman slog-swept the full delivery and it went into the gap between long-on and deep mid-wicket.

Laughlin sprinted from his position at long-on and put in a full-length dive to complete the one-handed beauty that stunned everyone watching the match. The video of the same has gone viral and has been posted on various accounts on Twitter. The commentators even hailed the catch as the best of the season.

Brisbane Heat achieved an easy target of 131 runs at the loss of four wickets only. The win has ensured them a place in the Knockout against Sydney Thunder on 31st Jan. Strikers’ journey in the tournament ended with the defeat in the Eliminator.
