Ben Stokes to leave IPL 2023 early owing to his commitments with England Cricket

After releasing Dwyane Bravo, CSK will try to fill his shoes to Ben Stokes.

The cricket’s biggest carnival is set to kick off on the 31st of March and the schedule has been out already. CSK’s most expensive signing Ben Stokes is expected to leave IPL 2023 early owing to his commitments with England Cricket.

The English all-rounder has been CSK’s costliest player in the IPL 2023 Mini auction. They went big on him considering his experience and three-dimensional qualities. The 31-year-old also possess leadership quality and can be a suitable replacement for MS Dhoni in the captain’s role.

The English all-rounder will most likely miss the playoffs of the IPL 2023 if CSK managed to reach there. Ben Stokes is the Test captain of the England cricket team and his major priority has been Test cricket only.

England will play a Test match against Ireland on the 1st of June at Lords. The test captain of England has given a statement in which he said he will make sure to prepare a week before the test match.

Chennai Super Kings are having their last league game on 20th May against Delhi Capitals which could be his last of the season.

CSK bought Ben Stokes for 16.25 crores

The 4-time champions spent big bucks on the English all-rounder. He was the 3rd most expensive cricketer in the IPL 2023 mini auction only behind Sam Curran and Cameron Green. The reason why CSK paid a hefty amount for Stokes was his past performances in IPL.

During the IPL 2017 Stokes was the most valuable player of the season making the Rising Pune Supergiants reach playoffs. In that season too he left the tournament early due to international duty.

His absence cost RPS the trophy to Mumbai Indians when they lost in the finals.

CSK pacer Kyle Jamison already ruled out of IPL 2023 due to an injury

MS Dhoni’s CSK side struck some major blows just before the start of the tournament. CSK have lost their prime overseas fast bowler Kyle Jamieson which they bought at the base price of 1 crore in auction 2023.

Kyle Jamieson has a stress fracture in his back and will undergo surgery that will make him sit out of action for 4 months.

Australian player will also miss playoffs of the IPL 2023 for WTC Final preparations

Along with England test playing players some of the Australian is also expected to miss the IPL playoffs. Australia is qualified for the WTC finals taking place in OVAL on the 7th of June.
