Historically, South Africa have been one of the strong teams in international cricket across all three formats of the game. They have had plenty of marquee players at their disposal who were capable of ruffling the opposition’s feathers. However, they haven’t made a bid for the ICC ODI World Cup in their cricketing venture, despite having key players in their arsenal. They are yet to reach the final of the ODI World Cup and will be looking to showcase their credentials in the upcoming edition of the mega tournament.

Recently, South African players reached Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala to play warm-up games at Greenfield International Stadium. Unfortunately, their first warm-up game against Afghanistan on September 29 at that venue was abandoned without a ball being bowled due to rain. Proteas are currently playing their second warm-up game against New Zealand.

Kagiso Rabada tries to speak Hindi in a funny video clip

Ahead of South Africa’s second warm-up game, Kagiso Rabada hogged the limelight after he tried to speak Hindi and the hilarious video clip of the same is being widely circulated on social media portals. The Instagram reel highlights Kagiso Rabada interacting with two people who hail from South Bombay. When the two locals try to impart the Mumbai local train’s decorum, the South African star hilariously retorts in Hindi, saying, “Beta, papa ko mat sikhao! (Son, don’t try to teach your father!)”

The reel started with a casual interaction and it ended with the trio shaking their legs, in what was truly entertaining. The mega tournament is just a few days away from the kick-off as New Zealand will lock horns with England in the tournament opener at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. South Africa will begin their World Cup campaign on October 7 as they will take on Sri Lanka at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Kagiso Rabada reckons that South Africa will leave an indelible mark in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. “As South Africans, we have never lacked confidence. Heading into the competition, we are certain that we can prevail. Hopefully, with the talent we have, we can reach our first tournament final and take home the trophy. It will be challenging, but also extremely pleasant,” Rabada was quoted as saying by ICC.
