For the record, Saqib Saleem once played cricket with Virat Kohli in his career. He stated that, while portraying a cricket player in the movie Dishoom, he played alongside India’s batting great, Virat Kohli in Delhi. Saqib is famous for his roles in several Bollywood films. He featured in Rohit Dhawan’s ‘Dishoom’ as Viraj Sharma, a top Indian batsman. He also featured in Ranveer Singh’s 83 as vice-captain Mohinder Amarnath. Hailing from Delhi, he was a cricketer through and through and little did he know that he would become an actor.

He kick-started professional life as a cricketer, plying his trade for Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir. Later on, he made up his mind to pursue a career in show business. Not many are aware of the fact that Saqib Saleem Qureshi’s sister is none other than Bollywood actress, Huma Qureshi. Saqib’s father, Saleem Qureshi, is a professional restaurateur who owns 10 eateries, popularly referred to as Saleem’s in the national capital.

Saleem who arrived in Mumbai started doing some modelling jobs before announcing his arrival in in several advertisements for brands. He made his acting debut in the romance-comedy film “Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge” in 2011 wherein he played the male lead. He drew plaudits for his work in the movie and deservedly nominated for a Filmfare Award in the ‘Best Male Debut category’.
