Brazil’s two-time World Cup-winning captain Marcos Cafu’s son Danilo Feliciano de Moraes passed away on September 4 died at the age of 30 due to heart attack while playing football at his family’s home in Barueri, metropolitan Sao Paulo.
The news was confirmed by Paulo Sergio, Danilo’s former teammate at Brazil, Danilo felt unwell while playing football and was rushed to Albert Einstein Hospital’s Alphaville unit and was declared dead.
Danilo was the eldest son of Cafu who played as a right-back for Brazil national football team and also represented AS Roma and AC Milan at club-level. Europe’s top football clubs like Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Real Madrid showed their condolences through tweets.

Cafu was deeply touched after seeking support from fellow footballers and fans overall the world. He took to his Instagram account thanking everyone for their concern and support.
The post’s caption translates:- “Me and my family would like to thank everyone’s support! Thank you for every message, for the concern, and for all affection of you I’m reading all the messages, but unfortunately, I won’t be able to answer. But this support from you makes all difference in my recovery and all my family. may everyone keep praying for us, the support of you strengthen us,” said the 49-year-old father.
Cafu lifted the World Cup for Brazil in 1994 and 2002 and is currently working with FIFA as the brand ambassador for the 2022 World Cup slated to be held in Qatar.
