This March, Imran Tahir will turn 46. At this age, most cricketers are usually seen in the commentary box, part of a coaching staff, or enjoying retired life. However, the same passion that fueled Imran Tahir during his prime still runs through his veins. He is playing in the SA20 league, and this passion was on full display during the JSK vs DSG match when he took a stunning catch.
Imran Tahir Ignites Kingsmead With ‘Siu’ Celebration
This moment came in the 7th over of the Durban Super Giants’ innings at Kingsmead Stadium. DSG batter Wiaan Mulder played a reverse sweep off Donovan Ferreira’s delivery. While the shot was well-timed, the placement wasn’t ideal. The ball turned into a catching opportunity for Imran Tahir, who was placed at square leg.
Defying his age, the 45-year-old cricketer dived and grabbed a stunning catch. What followed was a display of sheer energy and passion. Tahir broke into his trademark sprint and capped it off with Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic Siu celebration.

Batter Wiaan Mulder also couldn’t help but smile at Imran Tahir’s incredible effort. In the match, Tahir also provided Joburg Super Kings with their first breakthrough as he clean-bowled the dangerous-looking Brandon King.
After playing in the 2019 World Cup, Imran Tahir bid farewell to his international career. However, he continued his league career. He played for CSK in the IPL until 2021 and is still signed with several leagues at nearly 46 years of age, such as the SA20, PSL, Caribbean Premier League, Big Cricket League, and more.
