‘Chal Udhar Bhag’ – Rohit Sharma scolds Yuzvendra Chahal for showing laziness on field

The new full-time skipper was seen in action during the second ODI against West Indies.

Team India is playing under a new full-time captain Rohit Sharma, who was announced as the new skipper in the shorter formats of the game. Sharma has had quite a start to his captaincy career as the team has won the ODI series against West Indies after winning the second ODI in Ahmedabad. The skipper was seen taking full charge of the team and during the match Rohit Sharma scolds Yuzvendra Chahal for showing laziness on the field.

The fans witnessed an animated Rohit Sharma on the field as he led the troops from the front, setting the field and making changes whenever required. It was during the 45th over of the second inning, when Rohit Sharma said something to Yuzvendra Chahal which has caught the fancy of the viewers and the clip of the same has gone viral on social media platforms.

The West Indian lower order gave a slight scare to the Indian team as the Windies lower order batsmen decided to go big against the Indian bowlers. In the 45th over when Washington Sunder was bowling, Rohit Sharma saw Chahal not running properly and he scolded the spinner for the same. The skipper was clearly not happy with the way Chahal showed laziness on the field. The video of the incident has been doing the rounds on the internet and has become a topic of discussion.

India’s tour of South Africa didn’t turn out the way Indian team and the Indian fans would have wanted. After winning the first Test, team India went on downward slope and lost the two remaining tests. The Test series loss was followed by the defeat in the ODI series; however, team India is back to winning ways now. The Rohit Sharma led side has been clinical in the two ODI games they have played against West Indies.

A combined effort by the Indian players made sure that they take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the ODI series against the Caribbean team. The teams will be playing the third ODI on 11th February at the same venue. The ODI series will be followed by the 3-match T20I series which will take place in Kolkata and end on 20th February.
