‘Cricket balls are edible’- Rohit Sharma’s Twitter account gets hacked, a series of bizarre tweets posted

Funny tweets posted on Rohit Sharma's Twitter handle as it got hacked ahead of the test series against Sri Lanka.

Team India’s newly appointed test captain, Rohit Sharma, is all set to lead the test side for the first time in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. Just before the start of the series, on 1st March 2022, multiple cryptic tweets have been seen getting posted on Rohit Sharma’s Twitter handle, after which the fans have suspected that the account has been hacked. The nature of the tweets seems to be ambiguous and bizarre, something Rohit Sharma himself is highly unlikely to post.

Rohit Sharma has recently led Team India to their third consecutive 3-0 series victory in the shortest format of the game, which came against Sri Lanka. Team India is on a 12-game winning streak as far as the T20Is are concerned, 9 of these have come under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy. Currently, the Indian side is in Mohali, preparing for the upcoming 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka which starts on the 4th of March.

Rohit Sharma’s Twitter handle gets hacked

The fans first suspected the incident when the first bizarre tweet was posted from Rohit Sharma’s account at around 11 AM IST. The tweet read “I love coin tosses…especially when they end up in my belly!”. The fans could sense something is wrong as it was something which the Indian Captain is not used to posting. It was however not clear then whether the account has been hacked. Although, a few hours later when two more such odds tweets were sent out from the account it was clear that the account was in wrong hands.

The second tweet was about beehives being great boxing bags. Subsequently, a third tweet which was infact a question, read-“Cricket balls are edible…right?” These weirdly funny tweets went viral over the internet as the fans went on to share them across the social media.

As of yet, Rohit Sharma himself has not adressed about the incident. It would be interesting to see what the Indian Captain has to say about the funny tweets.
