Cricket fans upset as Mohammad Amir gives a send-off mimicking Triple H’s inappropriate celebration

Mohammad Amir pulled off an obscene celebration after dismissing Lahore Qalandars' batter Shai Hope.

Pakistan pacer Mohammed Amir has a knack of getting into the headlines for all sorts of awful reasons. Mohammad Amir has now garnered attention as he mimicked Triple H’s inappropriate celebration after taking a wicket in the Pakistan Super League game between Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars on February 19.

Mohammad Amir gets slammed for his controversial Triple H celebration in PSL

Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir, who took retirement from international cricket on 17 December 2020, is a key bowler for his PSL side Karachi Kings. Amir celebrated after dismissing West Indies batter Shai Hope in the game against Lahore Qalandars in a rather animated way which didn’t go well with the cricket fans.

During the 6th over of Lahore Qalandars’ innings, Amir bowled a short and wide delivery to Shai Hope who couldn’t keep his shot down and was eventually caught by Irfan Khan at point. After getting the wicket, Amir pulled off an obscene celebration which was made famous by WWE star Triple H.

Mohammad Amir’s controversial celebration went viral across the social media platforms and was slammed by netizens for his obscene gesture after picking up the wicket. Pakistan cricket fans criticised the left-arm pacer for mimicking famous WWE superstar Triple H’s signature celebration.

It’s worth noting that Mohammad Amir got into headlines a few days back after he threw the ball in the direction of Pakistan skipper Babar Azam during a PSL match against Peshawar Zalmi. After this incident former Pakistan skipper and chief selector Shahid Afridi had a word with the left-arm pacer and adviced him to remain calm on the field.

“Whenever a player doesn’t perform, or even if he does, I drop him a message for call him. Likewise, I messaged Amir yesterday. I talked to him respectfully, but I also scolded him. I told Amir, ‘what do you want?’ You have gained so much respect, you faced a blot on your reputation and from there, you made a return. You got a new life, in a way. What are you even trying to do?” Shahid Afridi had told Amir.

Amir finished with the figures of 2-0-12-1 as he couldn’t bowl his full quota of 4 overs after getting injured after bowling two overs against Lahore Qalandars. While Amir is doing well for his side, he’s constantly facing backlash for his uncontrolled aggression as there are young upcoming cricketers in the PSL who look up to him.
