There was some good news for cricket fans all across the globe as cricket returned back to live action. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, medical restrictions had brought all sports activities to an abrupt halt. With restrictions been eased across some walks of life, sports action began to return back to normalcy sans the presence of fans. In its first after the lockdown was partially lifted, cricket resumed with England playing host to the West Indies in a test series.
Finally, Cricket Resumes!
The Government of the United Kingdom (UK) opened its doors to international cricket for the first time in three months. The visiting West Indies team is scheduled to play a three-match test series against England. So, finally that’s some live cricket action for the fans. The first of three test matches kicked off at the Ages Bowl in Southampton.

Cricket And The BIOSECURE BUBBLE
Only time would tell if the decision to resume cricket was a right one or not. With countries around the globe still fighting the Covid-19 virus, it’s difficult to ascertain a playing condition as ‘safe’. Recent developments and precautions to tackle the pandemic in England have led to the game being played in a Biosecure Bubble. This relates to a safe and protective environment for the players as well as the team management and support staff. The conditions limit access to only a minimum people, additional medical precautions – periodic tests during the course of the tour, social distancing, temperature checks etc. “Training inside a bio-secure bubble has been a “weird” experience and something similar to a “sci-fi movie”. “It’s a bit like a sci-fi movie,” said England bowler Mark Wood while sharing his experience on the conditions in place.
In addition, there are areas have been demarcated into sections which comprise testing sites, green zones where a small but restrictive gathering is permitted. The measures are carried across the venues and the hotels where teams have been put up.
