‘CSK might say goodbye to Suresh Raina’ feels Aakash Chopra
Chennai Super Kings are known for playing with experienced players, regardless of their age. They have set this template for themselves where they rely on experience rather than young blood. They have been mighty successful with this strategy and have won 4 IPL titles under the captaincy of MS Dhoni. Chopra opines that they will look beyond Suresh Raina and would try to rope in someone like Shakib or Ashwin.
“Focus on the experience players, this has been their strategy and philosophy. Dhoni likes players like that. They don’t run after youth, they don’t run after exciting talent. They like to pick ripened players. I won’t be surprised at all if they look towards Steve Smith. I see their interest in Faf du Plessis, Ravichandran Ashwin and Shakib Al Hasan,” said Aakash Chopra on his Youtube channel.
The 2022 edition of the Indian Premier League will see 1o teams battling for the title. The 2 new franchises namely Lucknow Super Giants and Ahmedabad have already roped in 3 players each. While Lucknow has got KL Rahul, Ravi Bishnoi and Marcus Stoinis, Ahmedabad has opted for Hardik Pandya, Shubman Gill and Rashid Khan.
