Chennai Super Kings will begin their IPL 2023 campaign against Gujarat Titans on March 31 in Ahmedabad which will also be the inaugural game of the season. Ahead of their first game, MS Dhoni smashed a monstrous six in CSK Practice Match 2023 which was hugely applauded by the Chennai crowd.

After having a terrible outing in the previous edition of the Indian Premier League, CSK will be hoping to make a grand comeback in this season. MS Dhoni too started full-fledged preparation a few days back when he joined CSK practice camp at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Chennai Super Kings haven’t played at the Chepauk Stadium since 2019. UAE was the venue for IPL 2020 and IPL 2021 due to Covid-related restrictions while last year the league was organized at four different grounds in Mumbai.

IPL 2023 will have the home and away format and hence CSK will play half of their games in front of their home crowd. However, even before the start of IPL 2023, the cricket fans in Chennai are ready to cheer for their favorite cricketers.

In CSK Practice Match 2023, MS Dhoni whipped a monstrous six after which the Chennai crowd went into a frenzy. CSK’s batting coach Michael Hussey too was amazed at the kind of response MS Dhoni got from the Chennai crowd.

Chennai Super Kings posted the video of MS Dhoni’s six in the CSK Practice Match 2023 in on their official Twitter account with the caption, “Hussey’s reaction at the end sums up the 🎥💛 #ThalaDharisanam #WhistlePodu.”

Michael Hussey was looking towards MS Dhoni while he played the shot. He then turned around after listening to the huge noise made by CSK fans. Hussey shook his head and clapped for the passionate fans.

Meanwhile, after losing 10 out of their 14 games, CSK have made a couple of big changes to their squad. They picked Ben Stokes for INR 16.50 crores in the IPL 2023 mini auction as their key all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has announced his retirement from the cash-rich league.

Their premium pacer Deepak Chahar, who was ruled out of the entire previous edition, looks fully fit for IPL 2023. His presence in the squad will provide much-needed strength to their bowling lineup. After adding a couple of big players in their squad, CSK will look to dominate right from the word go in IPL 2023.
