Incidents of pitch invaders breaching security and interrupting the momentum of the game have become quite common nowadays in the sport. Recently, England’s popular YouTuber, Jarvo became the major talking point on the internet after he invaded the field during India’s World Cup 2023 opening fixture against Australia which took place on October 8, Sunday at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

Jarvo, who is well-known for invading the ground in international matches grabbed the attention of the cricket fraternity after he entered the field during Australia’s innings. Just as when the security guard escorted him out of the field, former Indian captain Virat Kohli went up to Jarvo and had a word with him. It seems that he was unhappy about the pitch invader disturbing the flow of the game.

Just as when Jarvo entered the field, he stumbled upon Indian paceman Mohammed Siraj and the latter thought that it was an Indian cricketer since Jarvo donned the Indian outfit. Siraj nearly went on to give him a low-five before even realizing that it was not the Indian player for a prankster ‘Jarvo’. When the pitch invader went past Siraj, the latter shouted at him and called Jarvo to get back.

Meanwhile, India’s wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul was unhappy with Jarvo interrupting the field as he wanted him to get out of the field. The security guard quickly entered the field and took the prankster out of the ground. The International Cricket Council (ICC) banned the notorious pitch invader Jarvo from entering the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 matches.

On the other hand, Team India led by Rohit Sharma got off to a scintillating start to their campaign with a six-wicket victory over Australia in Chennai. KL Rahul who scored an unbeaten 97* including 8 fours and 2 sixes was named the Man of the Match for his batting display. Team India will play against Afghanistan on October 11, Wednesday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi and the Men in Blue will enter the game as the favourites.
