RCB star batter Virat Kohli has a special connection with number 18 as he wears the number 18 jersey both for the Indian Team and Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL. Recently Virat Kohli discussed the importance of his jersey number 18 as he reckons there has to be a cosmic connection with this number.

The number 18 is always linked with star RCB batter Virat Kohli. He has got great success right from the word go after donning the number 18 jersey. He has the second most runs i.e. 25322 in international cricket and is just behind Legendary Sachin Tendulkar who has 34357 runs against his name.

“There has to be a cosmic connection with this number. I find it quite surreal even now to be honest when I see so many people wearing my jersey number and name. It’s quite surreal because I never imagined that I would be in this position one day. I was a kid wanting to wear my hero’s jersey at a certain given point,” Virat Kohli said on Star Sports

“To be honest 18 started off just being a number that was given to me when I opened that first India U19 jersey. I never asked for it, it was just given to me,” the RCB batter further spoke about the number 18 jersey.

“But then it ended up becoming a very important number in my life. My debut came for India on 18th of August, 2008. My father passed away on the 18th of December, 2006. Two of the most significant dates in my life happened to be 18,” Virat Kohli explained the significance behind the number and his cosmic connection with it.

Currently, Royal Challengers Bangalore find themselves at 5th place on the IPL 2023 points table with 12 points in 12 games. Virat Kohli and his side RCB will aim for a commanding victory against the SRH side on May 18 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.

Virat Kohli has looked in great touch right from the beginning of the tournament and will look to score some crucial runs for his side in the remaining two league games of the cash-rich league. He has scored 438 runs in 12 IPL games so far as he sits at sixth place in the race for the IPL 2023 orange cap.
