Bollywood star Salman Khan launched the song ‘Yentamma’ from his movie ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ on April 4. Days after its release former Indian cricketer Laxman Sivaramakrishnan has slammed the song for degrading South Indian culture and even appealed to CBFC to consider banning Salman Khan’s ‘Yentamma’ song.
Laxman Sivaramakrishnan took to Twitter on April 8 and criticized the latest song released by Salman Khan. Most of the other social media users too acknowledged the fact that the song was not showing the South Indian culture in a proper manner.
A Twitter user posted the video of Salman Khan’s ‘Yentamma’ song from the movie ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’ on April 4. He added the caption,”Offical song of #SalmanKhan’s #KisiKaBhaiKisiKiJaan titled #Yentamma offically out , rate the song featuring superstar #RamCharan out of 10″.
“This is highly ridiculous and degrading our South Indian culture. This is not a LUNGI , THIS IS A DHOTI. A classical outfit which is being shown in a DISGUSTING MANNER,” Laxman Sivaramakrishnan responded to the video posted in the tweet.

Appealing to @CBFC_India to consider to BAN ‘Yentamma’ song: Laxman Sivaramakrishnan
“Nowadays people do anything for money. Won’t they research what is a Lungi and a Dhoti. Even if it’s a set, it’s being projected as a temple. People associated with the movie should realise, no footwear inside the temple premises. Appealing to @CBFC_India to consider to BAN this, “ the former Indian spinner tweeted.

CBFC stands for Central Board Of Film Certification which is a statutory body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, regulating the public exhibition of films. Laxman Sivaramakrishnan tagged CBFC’s official Twitter handle to consider to ban Salman Khan’s ‘Yentamma’ song.
Another Twitter user asked Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, “Laxman sir why all these Bollywood movies show South culture in a poor way. Something has to be done for this, someone should file a PIL in court.”
Responding to the tweet the former Indian cricketer wrote,”If not for South Indians, most of whom are in the position to be Head of Finance in most Corporates in Mumbai. They will struggle.”
While most of the social media users did support Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, a few of them accused him of doing politics. He was also criticized for constantly questioning Bollywood while there were South Indian stars like Venkatesh Daggubati, Ram Charan, and Pooja Hegde in the song as well.
