DY Patil Sports Academy will host 11 matches of WIPL 2023
On the 15th anniversary of the DY Patil Stadium, it will host a historic game of WIPL 2023. Beth Mooney’s Gujrat Giants will face off against Harmanpreet Kaur’s Mumbai Indians in the opening game of the historic tournament.
The stadium lately hosted two action-packed games between India Women and Australia Women. The first two T20Is of the 5 match series between India and Australia were played here only.
In the first game, Australia made the 173 runs target set by India look like a piece of cake as they chased it while 11 balls were remaining. Beth Mooney starred in that game by scoring a match-winning 89* off 57 deliveries.
