‘Drop KL Rahul and…..’ – Harbhajan Singh suggests 2 Big Changes in Team India after defeat vs SA

KL Rahul has failed to score a double digit score this T20 World Cup. In 3 games, he has aggregated only 22 runs.

Team India’s former spinner Harbhajan Singh has suggested two changes in the team after the loss in the vital game against South Africa.

Harbhajan Singh believes that the Indian Team needs to take a couple of tough calls in order to do better as the tournament progresses.

Harbhajan Singh suggests to take some tough calls

Team India lost to South Africa in the super-12 stage game of the T20 World Cup by 5 wickets which halted their victorious campaign and will now have to wait to book a spot in the semi-finals.

Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh while speaking on Sports Tak said, “They may have to take some tough calls, the team has to think about it going forward. KL Rahul is a great player, we all know that, he is a match winner. But if he is struggling with his form like this, I think you should bring in Rishabh Pant. ”

Wicketkeeper Dinesh Karthik looked in some pain as he limped off during the South African innings and Rishabh Pant had taken his place behind the stumps and hence there’s uncertainty about Karthik’s fitness. Indian opener KL Rahul too has looked out of touch as he hasn’t got any big score yet in the three games.

Considering the present situation, the veteran off spinner said, “Karthik looks injured, I don’t know what his status is. If he is not, Rishabh Pant can open the innings with Rohit Sharma. You get a left-right combination like that. You can also bring in Deepak Hooda and he can even bowl a few overs.”

Harbhajan also believes that the Indian Team must bring Yuzvendra Chahal back as he’s a genuine wicket-taker. “I also feel they should bring in Yuzvendra Chahal in place of Ashwin. He is a bowler who takes wickets. You don’t mind giving away runs as long as you take 2-3 wickets. Chahal is a big match-winner and he is among the highest ranked T20 bowlers in the world,” he said.

Team India, after the loss against the Proteas, are now placed at the second position in the points table of the Group-2. The Men In Blue will now face Bangladesh and Zimbabwe and they must avoid any upsets as they’ll still look to reach the top of the points table.
