The Pakistan batting lineup finally fired up in the third and the final match of the England vs Pakistan 2021 series. Unfortunately, it still wasn’t enough for the visitors to clinch up a single win in the 3-match ODI series. Pakistan went on to lose the match even after posting a humungous total of 331 runs on the board.

After Fakhar Zaman went off early in the fifth over, Pakistan was looking well set with Imam-ul-Haq and Babar Azam on the crease. Being in desperate need of a wicket, the England Captain tossed up the ball to Matt Parkinson.

The bowler bowled a tossed up delivery, wide outside the off stump, and that’s when we witnessed the ‘Ball of the series’ or arguably the ‘Ball of the year’. As soon as the ball pitched, it spun a mile, went easily through the bat and the pad to hit the middle and off.

Parkinson, who in normal conditions would have not played a single match in the series, had gone on to play all three matches after the non-availability of the front-runners of the England Cricket Team. The bowler was quite animated after picking up the wicket.

In a bowling-dominated series like this, it was not surprising to see another bowling incident as high in class like this.

England clinch the England vs Pakistan 2021 series 3-0

After totally outplaying the visitors in the first two ODIs the England cricket team was determined to win the final match and clean sweep the series. The Pakistan batters finally held up this time and posted a good looking total with the help of Babar Azam’s flawless knock of 158 and fifties from Imam-ul-Haq and Mohammed Rizwan both.

England in reply kept on losing wickets on regular intervals until the Vince-Gregory partnership of 129 runs, but never let the required run rate go high. James Vince played a knock of 102 runs which was also his maiden century. England won the match by 3 wickets in the end with 12 balls remaining. Also, clinched up the series 3-0, giving nothing to the visitors.
