Fan asks Amit Mishra to join CSK, the spinner trolls the franchise with epic reply

The leg-spinner who went unsold in IPL 2022 Auction, delivered a witty reply when asked to play for Chennai Super Kings.

Seasoned India leg-spinner Amit Mishra might not have found any buyers in the IPL, but that hasn’t stopped him from being at his savage best on social media. The ex-Delhi Capitals leggie gave the cricketing world a good glimpse of his hilarious side by posting a tweet that trolled the Chennai Super Kings big time.

Mishra has been posting regular updates and reviews of IPL games on his Twitter account following his exclusion from the 15th edition of the tournament. The 39-year-old Haryana leggie had base-priced himself at INR 1.5 Crores for the auctions, but no team showed interest in acquiring his services. Which is somewhat surprising, given Mishra ji’s 3rd placed rank on the list of all-time leading wicket-takers in the tournament.

Nonetheless, Mishra has kept himself occupied with the IPL and all its happenings. On one of Mishra’s Twitter posts, a fan requested him to join defending champs Chennai Super Kings, who are quite struggling at the moment. The team, under the new leadership of Ravindra Jadeja, hasn’t managed to register a single win from their first 3 matches.

Moreover, the absence of star pacer Deepak Chahar due to an injury has put a spanner into the Chennai bowling attack’s plans. It seems like Chennai’s strategy of reacquiring their old, experienced pros at hefty price points- a lot of whom are too old and well past their prime- has deprived the team of some quality wicket-taking options. In fact, the team currently is also lacking a pedigreed leg-spinner, and neither Jadeja nor Moeen Ali have looked too impressive with the ball in hand so far.

So it’s quite understandable where the fan’s request was coming from. Mishra decided to humor the fan’s request- literally- by posting this tweet.

Mishra’s tweet came in as a google, and really did manage to outwit a whole bunch of Chennai fans. Meanwhile, there were some who appreciated his wits and quick humor. Here are some of the top reactions to Mishra’s tweet:
