Fans in Dubai Cricket Stadium engage in a brawl post Afghanistan’s loss to Pakistan

Disgraceful violence took place amongst the fans after Pakistan beat Afghanistan in a close contest.

afghanistan's loss to pakistan

The nail-biting PAK vs AFG Super Four game that took place on September 7, 2022, resulted in a physical altercation between Afghan pacer Fareed Ahmed and PAK batter Asif Ali that took the whole world by storm. However, the loss of control wasn’t limited to the players as even the fans got hot-headed following Afghanistan’s close loss to Pakistan.

Disgraceful violence took place amongst the fans of both sides after Pakistan beat Afghanistan in a close contest. The clip of the same has gained traction in no time.

Fans throw chairs at each other after AFG loses to PAK

Though Pakistan dominated the majority of the game, the last few overs saw the opponents stage a fightback and the equation came down to Pakistan (nine down) needing 11 off the last six balls.

It looked like Afghanistan was going to cause an upset. Nonetheless, Naseem Shah spanked consecutive sixes to shatter all their hopes.

Since Afghanistan’s loss to Pakistan was a close one and there were a few heated moments in the game, the Afghan fans lost their heads after the game.

Pakistan legend Shoaib Akhtar has shared a clip, showing some fans being mercilessly attacked by others.

“This is what Afghan fans are doing. This is what they’ve done in the past (after losing a close game) multiple times. This is a game and it is supposed to be played and taken in the right spirit,” reads Shoaib’s viral Tweet.

Chairs can be seen flying all around like birds and the fans can be seen brawling in huge numbers. One Pakistan supporter can be seen being brutally slammed on the back with a chair by a freak Afghan.

Shoaib claims that the violence was dominated by the Afghans as they could not cope with Afghanistan’s loss against Pakistan and their exit from the 2022 Asia Cup.

Honestly, it is hard to think otherwise as PAK fans had no reason to be frustrated after their side had already beaten Nabi and co. to qualify for the 2022 Asia Cup finale.

To conclude, the reaction of Afghan fans following Afghanistan’s loss to neighbouring Pakistan has left a lot to be desired.

Damaging stadium property and slamming opposition supporters with chairs is pathetic behaviour, to say the least.
