India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja made a brilliant comeback in the one-off test match against England after a long injury layoff. The Southpaw batter managed to compile his maiden overseas century and was one of the shining lights in an otherwise forgettable game for the visitors.

Jadeja and CSK’s relationship got fragile in IPL 2022

Jadeja’s brilliant batting performance comes several weeks after he unceremoniously decided to give up on the captaincy of his IPL franchise, the Chennai Super Kings. Earlier this year, MS Dhoni had relinquished the leadership of the team to allow Jaddu to be groomed as the team’s new captain. But following a dismal first-half of CSK’s IPL campaign, where the men-in-yellow lost their first four matches in a row, Jadeja officially handed the captaincy back to Dhoni.

But Jadeja’s poor run in the IPL 2022 extended well outside of his unimpressive leadership skills. In the 10 games he featured in, Jaddu could only muster 116 runs and 5 wickets. The way things were going, it could’ve come down to a point where the Chennai management might’ve dropped Jadeja from the team altogether. But as it happened, Jadeja sustained a rib injury and got ruled out of the tournament.

From the sketchy ways in which Jadeja’s CSK captaincy episode had started, transitioned- and ultimately ended- a lot of fans had speculated that there was a clear rift going on between Jaddu and the Chennai management. From the looks of it, the Chennai think-tank didn’t just want to invest the extra faith of captaincy on Jadeja- their costliest player ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auctions. And Jadeja felt disenfranchised by this reaction, which soured their relations.

Jadeja deletes all CSK posts from social media

To substantiate all the rumors of this apparent ‘rift’ going around: earlier in May, Jadeja and CSK allegedly unfollowed each other from their social media accounts. But now, it seems like Jadeja, on his part, has taken his passive-aggressive treatment of the Chennai team on social media to a step further. Earlier today, Jadeja allegedly deleted all his CSK-related posts after 2017 from his social accounts.

It didn’t take long for fans to react to John’s post. Most fans surmised that things looked awfully wrong between Jadeja and the CSK team management, and that their relation was coming to a definite end. This was further substantiated by the fact that Jadeja didn’t publicly wish MS Dhoni on his birthday this year, which hasn’t happened before. Others were unwilling to buy into any of the rumors, and suggested Jaddu and CSK were in for a life-long relationship:
