The India vs USA match in New York saw Hardik Pandya snatching a catch from Rohit Sharma. In the very first over of the USA innings, Andries Gous mistimed the ball, sending it into the air. It was a catching opportunity for Rohit Sharma, who dashed towards the ball. However, Hardik Pandya, who was standing in the cover region, was even quicker and gave Rohit Sharma no chance.

Both players survived a nasty collision thanks to Rohit giving up the catch at the right moment. It was a good catch taken by Hardik Pandya. Both knew it could have been worse, and they left with smiles on their faces. With this, Arshdeep Singh bagged his second wicket in the over, and the USA were put on the back foot, losing two wickets in the very first over.

Hardik Pandya snatching the catch drew hilarious reactions from fans. One X user tweeted, “Rohit ke paas catch aa raha tha, Pandya ne le liya. Dheere dheere sab chhin raha hai (The catch was coming towards Rohit, but Pandya took it. Slowly, everything is being taken away).” But jokes apart, it was a brilliant presence of mind shown by Pandya and a great catch taken at the end.

Rohit-led India will now take on Canada in their last group match in Florida. Then they will head to the West Indies for the Super 8 stage.
