Fox Cricket takes a dig at Pakistan for preparing ‘flattest pitch possible’ for 1st Test vs Australia

A new challenge awaits for Cummins and his team who are going to play an away Test for the first time in over 2 years.

It is going to be a remarkable moment in Australian cricket when they start their tour of Pakistan after a huge gap of 24 years. While both the teams are prepping for the upcoming contest, Fox Cricket takes a dig at Pakistan as they share a rib-tickling photo of Rawalpindi pitch which is going to be used for the first Test that kicks off on 04th March.

Fox Cricket takes a dig at Rawalpindi Pitch

Australian team will be setting foot on foreign soil after over a period of two years. The Kangaroos thrashed England by a margin of 4-0 in the 2021-22 edition of the Ashes series. More recently, the Aussies won a T20I series against Sri Lanka, however a new challenge awaits Cummins & Co. as they tour Pakistan. Amidst all the preparations that’s going on, Australia’s broadcaster Fox Cricket takes a dig at the flat pitch by editing the image and making it look like a highway.

Fox Cricket posted a picture on their Twitter handle where they photoshopped the original image of the Rawalpindi pitch. The first Test is going to be played in Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium and the pitch for the same is as flat as a road with no signs of grass on it. The broadcaster edited the image and added signboard to make it look like a highway road.

According to the reports by AFP, the Aussie spinner Nathan Lyon found the Rawalpindi pitch quite similar to the pitches in UAE. He feels that the pitch is going to assist the batsmen on initial days. “My role is going to change across the test matches. There’s going to be times where I’ll be in a holding role where there is an opportunity for me to be more attacking I will,” said Lyon according to AFP.

The Australian players will miss the initial matches of the Indian Premier League owing to their national duty and will join their respective IPL squads only after 05th April.
