Former Team India batsman and LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir dished out a few cuss words and then taunted the RCB crowd with his celebration after Lucknow Super Giants pulled off a thrilling heist against Royal Challengers Bangalore on their home turf.

Chasing 213 runs, Lucknow were reduced to 3 for 23 inside the first four overs and no one would have thought they’ll be able to manage it from there.

However, a counter-attacking 65 from Marcus Stoinis gave LGS some much-needed impetus before their 16 CR man, Nicholas Pooran, played the knock of his life to almost seal the game for them.

But Pooran (61 off 19) fell in the 17th over, following which the RCB bowlers  –egged on by the loyal fans at Chinnaswamy– brought the equation down to 1 off 2 balls. Things got intense, as Harshal Patel missed a Mankad attempt against LSG’s last batter Ravi Bishnoi on the penultimate delivery before Karthik fumbled behind the sticks on the last ball to allow the visitors to win the match through a bye.

Gautam Gambhir brings out a finger-on-lips celebration against RCB fans

Known to be rather poker-faced no matter how his team fares on the pitch, Gautam was seen animated after LSG’s insane win. 2007, 2011 WC winner was recorded blabbering a few cuss words in LSG dugout after their 1-wicket win.

That, however, wasn’t it as Gautam Gambhir saved his furious best for the Chinnaswamy crowd that kept chanting RCB-RCB throughout the course of the run-chase.

The former opener celebrated with a finger on his lips after marching to the center of the stadium, signaling the Chinnaswamy crowd to keep shut.

Fans, who have been divided in their opinion over Gambhir’s act, have reacted to the same.

Following the victory, LSG mentor Gautam Gambhir also gave Virat Kohli a death stare when the former rivals shook hands.

Regardless, the Delhi-born duo left their rivalry on the field and was spotted hugging each other after the post-match presentation.
