According to News18, Hardik Pandya could join Mumbai Indians in a swap deal with Rohit Sharma or Jofra Archer ahead of the IPL 2024 auction. If this deal happens, then we will be seeing Hardik Pandya leading Mumbai Indians and Rohit Sharma leading Gujarat Titans in the forthcoming IPL. What if the direct swap deal happens with Jofra Archer? In such a scenario, Rohit Sharma will continue to skipper Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
The report further added that Hardik Pandya could take over the captaincy reigns from Rohit Sharma in IPL 2025. Under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy, Mumbai Indians made waves in the league, as they won the title a record five times. Meanwhile, Hardik Pandya was roped in by Gujarat Titans for INR 15 crore in the IPL 2022 season. Under his tutelage, the newly inducted franchise won the title in their inaugural season by beating Rajasthan Royals.
