Afghanistan’s white-ball tour to Zimbabwe begins this weekend with the 1st ODI at Harare. The tour consists of 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. All the matches will be played at the Harare Sports Club ground. The ODI series between the two sides will also be a part of the 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. In this space, we will be discussing the Pitch Report and the ODI records of the Harare Sports Club ground.

The hosts are coming from a 3-2 series defeat against Namibia and would be looking to bounce back against the Afghans in their own backyard. The Afghanistan side, on the other hand, played their last white-ball series against Bangladesh in March 2022. Bangladesh won the 3-match ODI series 2-1, however, Afghanistan managed to tie the T20 series 1-1.

Harare Sports Club Pitch Report

The surface at the Harare Sports Club ground offers an even bounce hence the batsmen find it easy to judge the ball and play their shots. The spinners may come into the act during the middle overs whereas the pacers would be in the game throughout. The pitch remains true here throughout the course of the game. The bowlers will have to bowl in the right areas in order to contain the batsmen.
