The Indian team has been in great form especially in red-ball cricket and has won back-to-back series against Australia and England. The team has shown great resilience and grit and always bounced back from adverse situations. The Indian team showed their class and ‘Never Give Up’ attitude against Australia when most of their important players got injured. Harbhajan Singh feels that there may be a surprise waiting for all of us when team India enters the ground on June 18.

This surprise may come in the form of Ishant Sharma who may be overlooked and Mohammed Siraj may be given a chance. Harbhajan Singh wants Mohammed Siraj to get a chance in WTC final paying XI as he feels that India should go with three pure fast bowlers. He also adds that a player’s current form must definitely be considered while picking the team. Siraj has improved by leaps and bounds and showed great character against Australia.

“You have to look at the present scenario. Siraj’s form, pace and confidence makes him a better choice for this final match. The kind of form he is in last six months, he looks like a bowler who is hungry for his chances. Ishant has gone through some injuries of late but has been a great servant of Indian cricket no doubt,” said Harbhajan Singh.

In India’s WTC final squad, Ishant Sharma is the most capped player having played 101 tests. The pacer has taken 303 wickets making him the 6th highest test wicket-taker for India. On the other hand, Siraj has just started his career and has struck 15 wickets in 5 matches.

Siraj was instrumental in India’s win in Brisbane with a five-wicket haul to his name. It would be really interesting to see which of the 11 players will get a chance to play in the historic and first-ever WTC final. Both the teams will surely give their best and would love to lay their hands on the WTC trophy. Both the teams are currently sweating it out in the nets.
