Fans imagine what if one day superstars like Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and Rohit Sharma decide to enter the IPL auction. Rohit Sharma was part of the auction in 2011, where Mumbai Indians bought him for ₹9.2 crore, but Dhoni and Kohli were never part of the IPL auction as they were picked via drafts in 2008 by CSK and RCB, respectively.

They may not be in their prime, but they could still spark a bidding war in the auctions, with many experts believing Kohli could even reach the ₹30 crore mark. However, Harbhajan Singh has an alternative pick that seems quite reasonable. In a recent tweet, Harbhajan expressed his belief that if Jasprit Bumrah enters the IPL auction, he could break Mitchell Starc’s record bid of ₹24.75 crore.

On September 30, Harbhajan Singh tweeted, ‘If Jasprit Bumrah puts himself in the auction, he will be the highest-paid IPL player in the history of the IPL! Agree, people?’ Fans in the comment section agreed, but they also pointed out that Mumbai Indians is unlikely to release him. It can only happen if Jasprit Bumrah himself ever decides to part ways with Mumbai Indians.

Jasprit Bumrah was acquired by Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2014 auction, and since then, they have retained him every season. There is no way they are going to release him for the upcoming mega auction, and he is likely to feature among their retained players for IPL 2025.
