Gujarat Titans took on Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2023 game on May 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In the GT vs DC game, Hardik Pandya took a bizarre review against DC batter Aman Khan off Mohit Sharma’s bowling after which fans brutally trolled the Gujarat Titans’ skipper.

Gujarat Titans had dismissed five Delhi Capitals’ batters just in the powerplay overs after which they looked like bowling DC out for a low score. However, the David Warner-led side did make a comeback and batted 20 overs to post a total of 130-8.

Hardik Pandya’s freakish DRS call against Aman Khan in the GT vs DC game

On the last delivery of the 18th over of Delhi Capitals’ innings, GT pacer Mohit Sharma bowled a pitched ball outside the off stump. Aman Khan aimed to play a pickup shot over the wicketkeeper’s head but missed his shot as the ball crashed onto his pads.

GT fielders made a loud appeal which was rejected by the on-field umpire after which skipper Hardik Pandya decided to go for the DRS review. The delivery was pitching outside the off-stump and hit the batter on the pad miles away from the off-stump. It was more of a desperate review by Hardik Pandya as it clearly looked not out even with the naked eye.

The Gujarat Titans skipper was then brutally trolled on social media for the bizarre DRS call. One of the Twitter users called it,” One of the strangest reviews.” Another user termed it as the ‘worst review in the history of the game.’

Talking about the game, Mohammed Shami bowled a heroic spell in the powerplay as he went on to dismiss 4 DC batters with the new ball. Delhi Capitals were placed at a score of 28-5 as they looked to get bowled out within 20 overs.

Aman Khan made a partnership along with Axar Patel for the 6th wicket as the two DC batters took the game ahead. Aman Khan eventually went on to score a brilliant 44-ball 51 including 3 fours and 3 maximums and took DC to a respectable total of 130-8.

Gujarat Titans too had a terrible start in the powerplay overs as they lost their four batters in the first 6 overs. Delhi Capitals’ bowlers made a collective effort to restrict GT as the Hardik Pandya-led side fell short by 5 runs in the GT vs DC clash.
