Indian Premier League is a stage where young Indian players showcase their talents in a bid to make it big in the international arena. Players like Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and Yuzvendra Chahal among others got the deserving limelight in the IPL and they are now part of the Indian Cricket team. The 15th edition of the IPL is no short of new talent and one particular pacer has left former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan impressed.

The ongoing season of the IPL is seeing a lot of new Indian pacers who are making a case for themselves on the big stage. While Umran Malik is doing the talking with his pace, bowlers like Kuldeep Sen, Mukesh Choudhary and Mohsin Khan have impressed the fans as well. Among all the new bowlers who have emerged in this year’s IPL, Arshdeep Singh from Punjab Kings has left Irfan Pathan impressed.

While everyone is raving about Umran Malik’s fiery pace, Arshdeep Singh is quietly doing the job for his team. He has been accurate and been really economical in the death overs where the chances of getting hit are the maximum. Though the young bowler hasn’t accounted for many wickets, he has kept the biggies quiet with his line and length and this has left Irfan Pathan impressed with the pacer.

“Arshdeep is a special player. He is young, confident and accurate. All these qualities distinguish him from the bowlers of his age. He’s keeping big players like MS Dhoni, Hardik Pandya or someone else silent in the death overs and that speaks volumes about the kind of talent he possesses. His growth has been phenomenal. Despite the presence of Kagiso Rabada, he is getting the recognition which proves how good a talent he is,” said Irfan Pathan on Star Sports.

Though Arshdeep Singh has been brilliant for his team, the PBKS team has not been able to perform to their potential. They have only won 6 out of the 13 matches they have played so far and are almost eliminated from the race to playoffs. Their loss against Delhi Capitals in the 64th Match on Monday evening marked their exit from getting to the playoffs.
