Team India’s skipper Rohit Sharma posted an Instagram story in which he can be seen smiling while enjoying his time in Dharamsala soon after Afghanistan defeated Pakistan in the World Cup 2023 clash on October 23. Rohit’s cryptic story went viral on social media as cricket fans believe he was enjoying arch-rival Pakistan’s defeat in the crucial game.

Afghanistan chased down a competitive target of 283 runs quite comfortably on a tricky wicket at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. This defeat has made things even worse for the Babar Azam-led side as they have already lost 3 out of their 5 games in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.

The Afghan side got off to a brilliant start courtesy of their opening batters Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. They kept cruising towards the target as Rahmat Shah and skipper Hashmatullah Shahidi too were impressive with the bat leaving no stone unturned during the chase.

Did Rohit Sharma take a dig at the Pakistan Cricket Team through his Instagram Story?

Team India defeated New Zealand in the all-important clash on October 22 after which the Indian players are enjoying their holiday in Dharamsala. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma posted one of his pictures on his Instagram story in which he can be seen smiling.

However, this story was posted right after Pakistan’s defeat in the game against Afghanistan in Chennai. Netizens have speculated that Rohit Sharma was actually laughing at Pakistan after their terrible defeat in the vital game.

Rohit Sharma’s cryptic story has gone viral across social media platforms and has garnered attention from cricket fans. A few netizens have posted hilarious reactions to the viral story.

It’s worth noting that the Men in Blue have a week off after the game against New Zealand in Dharamsala. Their next match is scheduled on October 29 against the Defending Champions England who are struggling quite a bit in this tournament.

The Indian team has chosen to stay in Dharamsala for two days as they enjoy their break between the two games. The much-needed break will help in the workload management of their senior players.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan side has won only 2 out of their 5 games and is currently placed in the 5th position in the World Cup 2023 points table. They still have to face stronger teams like New Zealand, South Africa and England which will make things even tougher for them as they will look to qualify for the semi-final stage of the marquee tournament.
