‘He scores in 1-2 games and then fails’ – Kapil Dev slams Indian batsman for his inconsistency

Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals were clinical in the recently concluded 15th edition of the IPL and reached the finale.

Team India is playing South Africa for a 5-match T20I series currently and are fighting to level the series. Most of the senior players are being rested and the young guns are battling on the field to win the T20 series. Since many of the players are being given a break, many thought Sanju Samson would be a part of the squad for the SA series, however it wasn’t so. Now, Kapil Dev slams the Rajasthan Royals captain for his inconsistency.

Kapil Dev slams Sanju Samson

Sanju Samson led his IPL team Rajasthan Royals to the finale of the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League as the team played entertaining cricket. They crumbled against the debutants Gujarat Titans in the final but still won the hearts of fans for the brand of cricket they played. While Sanju Samson accumulated quiet a few runs in the 2022 season of the IPL, Kapil Dev slams the batsman for his inconsistency.

The RR captain got good starts in the IPL but couldn’t convert them to a big score and while his quickfire innings in few matches did help the team, Kapil Dev slams him for not being consistent. Owing to the fact, the batsman was not picked in the 18-member squad for the South Africa series, but he has been selected to play in the 2-match T20I series against Ireland.

“I am disappointed with Sanju Samson. He is so talented. He does well in one or two matches and then he does not do anything. If you talk about wicketkeepers, they’re all almost the same. But if you talk about being the better batter, on a given day, all four can win you matches,” said Kapil Dev on ‘Uncut’.

Team India is going to tour Ireland for a 2-match T20I series which will start on 26th Jun and will on 28th June. The BCCI has announced a 17-member squad for the two matches with Hardik Pandya as the captain for the tour and Bhuvneshwar Kumar as the vice-captain. It will be interesting to see Pandya leading the national side as he has done a great job in IPL as the captain of the Gujarat Titans, leading them to their first trophy in their debut season itself.
