The 1983 World Cup winning team opener batsman K Srikkanth passed a bold comment ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023. India will solely host the tournament for the first time ever and so they’ll be entering the tournament as the favorites. In context, K Srikkanth heaps praise on India Star ahead of CWC 2023.

The tournament will commence on the 5 of October at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. The most awaited game of India-Pakistan will be played on 15th October.

The Indian team is once again traveling with some experienced horses in their team just like the World Cup-winning team in 2011. In batting the likes of captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli bring experience as well as truckloads of runs behind their name.

In the bowling department, they have experience with Mohammad Shami and Jasprit Bumrah who will be fit until the gala event.

However, the player who will be proven as a game-changer will be the all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Former Indian cricketer K Srikanth’s massive statement on Jadeja justifies his worth in the current team.

‘Jadeja will do what Yuvraj did in 2011’ – K Srikkanth’s

In India’s 2011 World Cup triumph Yuvraj Singh was the main architect. He was awarded the man of the tournament for scoring 362 runs and 15 wickets he picked in that tournament. His impact on India’s road to the final was immense as he single-handedly won the quarter-final against the mighty Aussies.

Jadeja on the other hand possesses similar qualities but the player has better bowling qualities than Yuvraj. The Gujarat-born allrounder is an expert in the field and his bullet arm has provided many breakthroughs to his team.

His batting qualities have also improved a lot and it won’t be wrong to say that he is the best batter of the current Indian team after Shubhman Gill. It will be interesting to see how the Indian team will use him in the batting order as he is a player who can fit in anywhere in the lineup.

India might use Jadeja as the No. 5 considering his current form

It won’t be a bad option to use the ace all-rounder up in the order as he is in such a scintillating batting form. However, the player is a very clean hitter as well so the Blues might even think to use him as a finisher at the end to bag some useful runs under pressure.
