The 2023 Ashes series is heading towards the famous Headingley Stadium where we saw Stokes’s famous knock to take England home in the 2019 Ashes. This game will be very crucial considering England’s point of view as it will be a do-or-die game for them. Here is the Headingley Leeds Pitch Report for the 3rd Ashes Test on the 6th of July.

After the Lord’s test match, the series lit up and the level of intensity in the third test will be even more. The English team has also made some bold changes in their lineup after suffering two back-to-back defeats.

They made a tough call of benching James Anderson after he struggled to pick wickets in the first two games. In place of him, Mark Wood has been included in the lineup for his sheer pace and line and length.

It is great to bat on once the batter has got his eye on the ball. There is some seam movement on offer on this wicket but the bounce of this pitch is very much predictable.

The spinner will also have a role to play on the 3rd and 4th days of the test match as the ball does grip a bit on this pitch. Both teams will include a spinner in their teams along with an express pace bowler who can play some chin music in the middle.

The toss winner would like to bowl first on this wicket as it does offer some help to the fast bowlers in the initial phase. Although there is very slight movement in the air it is a very appropriate wicket for seam bowling.
