As the fresh season of Vitality Blast T-20 has begun on the 20th of May, the iconic stadium of Headingly is all set to host 7 games of the tournament. The pitch of Headingly has behaved differently over the years therefore, in this article we will look at what fans can expect this time. Here is Headingley Leeds Pitch Report for T20 Blast 2023.

The beautiful stadium is situated in St. Michaels Lane in the city of Leeds. It is home to the famous English cricket club Yorkshire for many years. It is the 5th largest cricket stadium in the UK in terms of capacity as it can give 18,350 spectators a live cricket experience.

Yorkshire will play 7 home games of the Vitality T20 Blast at the Headingley Cricket Ground. The 7 games will be up against Durham, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Worcestershire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, and Warwickshire.

Headingley Pitch Report

The Headingley Wicket is a typical English pitch that offers both pace and bounce during the early stages of the game. Fast Bowlers who can swing and extract seam movement from the pitch will have time to remember at this venue.

However, as the game progresses the wicket becomes an absolute belter to bat on. The ball comes onto the bat nicely therefore the strokeplayers can play their shots on the true bounce of this wicket.

Openers will need to be careful with anything outside off in the initial phase but later on, after settling down they can play their shots.

The toss winners should opt to bowl first at this wicket and extract as much as they can with the freshness of this pitch. We might even see a spinner come into play, especially during the second innings as the wicket behaves differently after any wear and tear.

Leeds Weather forecast

There will be very pleasing weather with the occurrence of clouds over the top in Leeds for the month of June. There are no such signs of rain at Leeds while the Vitality Blast will be in progress.

We will see cloud cover during the whole tournament however rain won’t be interrupted any of the 7 games which will be played at this venue.

The temperature will hover around 18 degrees Celsius to 20 degrees Celsius with a windspeed of 18kmph.
