Ali was given the chance to bat at No.3 by the CSK captain and that did wonders for the English cricketer. MS Dhoni came as a lifesaver for Ali and saved his international career in the T20 format.
In a recent interaction with the official broadcasters, Moeen Ali said, “Playing for CSK gave me a lot of confidence. They showed a lot of faith in me right from the time when I was bought at the auctions. As a player you want that sometimes… It felt like I was a very important part of the squad. And I was happy to repay their faith”.
