The first ever edition of the Lanka Premier League kicked off on November 26. Based on the lines of domestic T20 league taking place across the globe, the Lanka Premier League 2020 features five teams, and will line-up some of the prominent T20 specialists in the game. But how much would a cricketer earn for playing at the inaugral edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020?

The Lanka Premier League will host franchises – Jaffna Stallions, Kandy Tuskers, Galle Gladiators, Colombo Kings and Dambulla Hawks. Along with local cricketers, the league will also see the likes of Andre Russell, Irfan Pathan, Dale Steyn, Shahid Afridi, Angelo Mathews, Carlos Brathwaite, among others. USD 60,000 (INR 44,00,000 approx)
This are the top earners from Sri Lanka – allrounder Dasun Shanaka joins attacking batsman Kusal Perera and international stars Angelo Mathews and Thisara Perera.

USD 50,000 (INR 36,00,000 appox)
Following the top earners, are a list of high-profile international stars in Lendl Simmons, Shahid Afridi, Mohammad Hafeez, Irfan Pathan, Andre Russel, Wanidu Hasaranga de Silva, Dale Steyn.

USD 40,000-25,000 (INR 18,00,000 – 30,00,000)
This mid-scale pay bracket includes former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik, Sri Lankans Niroshan Dickwella, Danushka Gunathilaka, Kusal Mendis, IsuruUdana, Avishka Fernando. Afghanistan player Hazratullah Zazai along with Sudeep Tyagi and Manprith Singh.

USD 15,000 (INR 11,00,000)
Zimbabwean duo of Brendan Taylor and Paul Stirling fetched contracts of USD 15,000. In the same pay scale are the likes of former Pakistan skipper Safraz Ahamed, Naveen-ul-Haq, Raveendrapal Singh, Azam Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Qais Ahmad, Kyle Abbot, Lahiru Madushanka, Lakshan Sandakan, Kamindu Mendis, Dushmantha Chameera, Duanne Oliver, Shehan Jayasooriya, Dilruwan Perera, Jeffrey Vandersay, Chathuranga de Silva, Angelo Perera, Asitha Fernando, Priyamal Perera, Thikshila de Silva, Minod Bhanuka, Ramesh Mendis, Nuwan Thushara, Kavishka Anjula, Tharindu Kaushal, Mahesh Theekshana, Pulina Tharanga, Mohammed Shiraz, Lasith Embuldeniya, Lahiru Udara, Charith Asalanka. Sri Lankan opener Upul Tharanga got paid for USD 15,000 as well.
