‘I am fully fit for the IPL’ – Injury-prone Deepak Chahar declares himself available for upcoming season

Deepak Chahar is struggling with injuries after CSK picked him for 16 crore in IPL 2022 Auction.

Chennai Super Kings pace spearhead Deepak Chahar comes back from a long-time injury. The 30-year-old said ‘I am fully fit for the IPL’ – Injury-prone Deepak Chahar declares himself available for the upcoming season. He was ruled out from the entire IPL last year and missed most of the matches last year.

Deepak missed the entire IPL 2022 due to an injury

Chennai Super Kings spent big bucks on the Rajasthan-born fast bowler. He was their most expensive signing in the 2022 auction. CSK bought Deepak Chahar for a whopping 14 crore considering his past performance for the franchise.

After Dhoni’s CSK spend big money on Chahar they got a major setback in the news of Chahar’s unavailability for the entire season. The team struggled a lot in his absence and they finished second last on the points table.

Chahar has been CSK’s top wicket-taker for the last 3 years and his impact with the new ball is irreplaceable in the team. His arrival in the CSK squad for the 2023 season will provide a major boost to their bowling which tumbled under pressure last year.

Deepak Chahar declares himself available for the IPL 2023

In an interview, the Indian bowler clarified that he is fully fit for the IPL 2023 and will provide his services to CSK with full flow. The bowler made his comeback in a Ranji Trophy game against Services. It was the only game he played this year in the Ranji Trophy.

He looked totally fit when he bowled in the Ranji Trophy. He said in an interview that he sustained two major injuries and coming after that is difficult for the bowlers.

The pacer added “I am working hard for the past two-three months on my fitness, I am fully fit and preparing well for the IPL,”

“I have lived by one rule all my life. If I am fully bowling the way I want, if I am batting the way I want, there is no stopping me. That was the basic rule with which I started my career.

“I don’t care who is playing, who is not playing, my motive is to get fully fit and perform with the ball and bat 100 percent. If I do that, I will get my chances,” Chahar added.

Chahar sustained a stress fracture and a quad grade 3 tear

The pacer experienced two major blows just ahead of the T20 World Cup 2022. Regardless of the injuries ruling him out of the T20 World Cup, the player kept motivated.

Nevertheless, Chahar’s main objective is to feature in the ODI World Cup 2023. He is preparing in full flow for his spot in the team for the gala event taking place in India.
