However, for the first time since the inaugural T20 World Cup edition, MS Dhoni will not be part of Team India in any capacity.

Dhoni leaded the side till the 2016 T20 World Cup and was Team India’s mentor in the 2021 T20 World Cup.

MS Dhoni’s epic reply to anchor

The veteran leader attended a promotional event just before the start of Team India’s campaign in the 2022 T20 World Cup.

Just before the anchor could question any questions about Team India, Dhoni left the audience in splits with a funny response. “I am not playing the World Cup. The team has already left.”

The former captain left everyone amazed with his witty response as nobody was expecting such a hilarious response from MS that too before asking any questions.

Dhoni has been one of the most integral part of the Indian Team for the last few years and is usually asked vital questions regarding India’s success in multinational tournaments.

The veteran leader led India to victory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, World Cup 2011, and Champions Trophy 2013.

The Indian Team is still trying to conquer an ICC tournament for the last 9 years as they haven’t got triumphed in ICC events since 2013.

Even though Dhoni is not a part of the international side now but still leads the Chennai Super Kings team and whenever there is a discussion about India’s success in ICC events, MS does get a few questions to answer from cricket fans as he is still one of the most followed cricketers.

The Rohit Sharma-led side will kick off its campaign against Pakistan on October 23.

The Indian team is placed in Group 2 along with Pakistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, Zimbabwe, and the Netherlands.

The final of the mega event will be played on November 13 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
