Out-of-favor Team India leggie Yuzvendra Chahal made an appearance on the July 15 Episode of the The Ranveer Show (TRS), a podcast hosted by renowned YouTube creator Ranveer Allahabadia.
The spin-wizard while appearing on the podcast expressed how he felt after Royal Challengers Bangalore did not showcase trust in him during IPL 2022 Players auction.
For the unversed, Yuzi Chahal was the bowling equivalent of King Kohli at RCB and took 139 wickets off 113 matches during his time at the Bangalore franchise.
Despite 8 years of top class service from the leggie, Chahal lost the retention race to Siraj and when the time came to splurge money on him to bring him back during the auction progress, RCB refrained, choosing to spend 10.75 CR on one-season-wonder Harshal Patel instead.
TRS: Yuzvendra Chahal shares his opinion on RCB not fighting for him
Reflecting on the mistreatment he got, Chahal was quoted as saying, “I represented RCB for around 140 (113) matches, but I got no communication from them. They promised me that they’ll go after me (during IPL auction 2022)”.
“I got very angry after that. I played for them for eight years. Chinnaswamy is my favorite stadium”.
Interestingly, Chahal shone through with the ball for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022, taking 27 wickets off just 17 matches to end the season with Purple Cap, helping RR to a 2nd-placed finish. Chatur Chaalak Chahal was at top of his game in 2023 IPL too, bagging 21 scalps at an average of 20.57.
Dhanashree reveals how she and Chahal became a couple
Notably, wife Dhanashree Verma was also present at the aforementioned TRS episode alongside Yuzvendra Chahal.
She revealed on The Ranveer Show how Chahal first approached her for dance classes during COVIS-19 lockdown, and went on to impress her with his dedication and straightforward approach.
“The time when he messaged me he wanted to take dance classes. I had no clue who Yuzi Chahal was”.
“He was sincere about dance. Whenever I’d give him homework, he would practice too. He used to send videos, asking where he can do good. This is why the classes lasted for 2 months. Decency is what I loved about him”.
“The way, as a student who he was with him, as a friend he was with me, and the direct approach (to marry). No one does that,” Dhanashree Verma Chahal quipped about Yuzvendra on TRS.
Chahal was impressed by Dhanashree’s jubilant nature even during the lockdown period, and the fact that she was a self-made personality, like himself.
