Rohit Sharma looks forward to breaking Chris Gayle’s record

The manner in which he times the balls in an attempt to hit sixes is literally a cut above the rest of the batters of the current era. There are batsmen who hit sixes with brute force whereas there are batsmen who rely on sheer timing to hit maximums and Rohit Sharma belongs to this category as he combines the game with exquisite timing, more often than not.

The Indian skipper grabbed the headlines after he expressed his great deal of interest in breaking Universe Boss Chris Gayle’s record in international cricket. It is cognizance of the fact that Chris Gayle tops the list in terms of smacking the most sixes in international cricket (Tests+ODIs+T20Is). For the record, the West Indies international smashed as many as 553 sixes in his stellar cricketing career.

He is one of the only two batsmen to have smashed more than 500 sixes in international cricket. On the other hand, Rohit Sharma comes next on the list as he hammered as many as 539 sixes in his magnificent international career. He is 14 sixes away from shattering Gayle’s record and the Indian skipper might as well break this record in the ongoing calendar year.
