India is currently having the luxury of quality fast bowlers in the circuit. There was a time when India didn’t even have 3 proper seamers who can bowl over 135 Kmph but now the tables have turned. Now India has a problem fitting in seamers in the playing as all of them are different from each other. India is having a problem of plenty thanks to the Indian Premiere League for giving talented fast bowlers a platform to shine.

Avesh Khan has been sitting out of the national white ball team for a while now. His last appearance in an Indian shirt was in October 2022 against South Africa. The latter didn’t get a chance in the 2022 T20 World Cup Squad and was ruled out from Asia Cup 2022 as well due to unfortunate sickness.

The 26-year-old is hungry for the opportunity and he is expecting a comeback in the national but this time in the red ball. Competition for Avesh Khan is day by day increasing as bowlers like Umran Malik, Prasidh Krishna, Mohammad Siraj, and Shardul Thakur are performing seemingly well.

In a recently conducted interview, Avesh Khan expressed his disappointment ” Twice I was ruled out because I was not feeling well. People might judge that on a few occasions, I went expensive but in today’s cricket 6 out of ten times, bowlers have a bad day. I’m not complaining or giving excuses but that’s the truth. Now I have forgotten everything; instead, I’m living in the present. When selection happens it will happen. Performing is in my hand and selection is not. So I have stopped thinking about it.”

Avesh Khan is very confident about his red-ball bowling as he is breathing fire in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2023.

“I have played for India with the white ball but I want to represent the Indian Test team and for that, I’m working hard. I knew I needed to step up for MP because how many times do we see a team trailing and bouncing to win matches in Ranji Trophy. If I’m good I need to stand up and take the responsibility of taking my team through. It was a complete team effort and we played like a team today,” he added.
