The biggest Cricket tournament of the year, the 7th edition of T20 WC is set to go underway from October 17. On Tuesday, ICC announces the full schedule of the ICC 2021 T20 World Cup. The Round 1 matches which are the qualifying matches for the Super 12 will take place between October 17 to 22. Eight teams have already made it to the last 12 and earlier ICC had announced the two groups, with India and Pakistan being drawn in Group 2.
The Super 12 which is the main event, will commence on October 23 with Australia vs South Africa match. India will start their ICC World Cup 2021 campaign against Pakistan on the 24th of October. Three venues in UAE; Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah will host the tournament while 3 of the Round 1 matches are scheduled to play in Oman.
ICC T20 World Cup 2021 Full Schedule in India Time
Eight teams; Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, Netherlands, Oman, Namibia, and Papua New Guinea will compete for the remaining four spots in Super 12 groups. The teams have been divided into two groups of four teams each. During Round 1, a total of 12 matches will be played and the top two teams from each group will be advanced to the Super 12.
The Super 12 teams have been divided into two groups of 6 teams each. Each team will play 5 matches during this stage and the top two teams from both groups will qualify for the semi-finals. The semi-finals and the final of ICC T20 World Cup 2021 are scheduled to play on November 10, 11, and 14 respectively. India, England, West Indies, Pakistan are hot favorites to lift the title.
