The ICC T20 World Cup 2021 is all set to begin on Sunday, October 17. The tournament will kick-off with the Oman vs PNG encounter in the Al Almerat cricket stadium in Muscat, Oman. The group stage will end on October 22 after which the Super 12 stage will commence, i.e. from October 23. It is after a long gap of 5 years that a T20 World Cup is being held. Earlier, this edition of the T20 World cup was scheduled for the year 2020 but due to the pandemic situation, it was shifted ahead into the current year. 16 teams are set to battle for a span of 29 days in order to claim the World T20 title.
The T20 World Cup comprises two stages. One- the Group Stage, and second – the Super 12 Stage. A total of 8 teams which are divided into two groups of 4 each will battle in the Group stage. The top 2 teams from each group, after the conclusion of the group stage, will join the already qualified eight teams in the Super 12s. The tournament starts October 14 and the final will be played on November 14 in Dubai. The Super 12 stage and the knockout games will be held in the UAE itself, across three venues, which are- Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi. Oman will host the group stage of the tournament.

The Star Sports Network has exclusively bagged the rights to broadcast the ICC T20 World Cup Live in India. Star Sports 1/1 HD, Star Sports 2/2 HD and Star Sports 1 Hindi/1 HD Hindi channels will be telecasting all the matches in the subcontinent. It’s worth mentioning that free to air channel DD Sports will also broadcast Team India’s matches. The matches will start at two different timings. The day matches will be starting at 03:30 PM IST while the night games will commence from 07:30 PM IST.
